The SCREEN MIN COW
ends with the poignant question: "Since SCREEN MIN minimizes things,
can you guess what SCREEN MAX does?"
Yep, you guessed it... SCREEN MAX maximizes things. [mic drop] Wait, you want more? Entering minimal SCREEN MAX has the same result as pressing the rectangle button in the right corner of the title bar, maximizing the GHS window to fill the screen vertically, from top to bottom: |
But why doesn't SCREEN MAX fill the entire screen, horizontally as well as vertically? The problem with doing that is as the GHS window gets wider, the character size gets bigger and the number of command rows gets smaller... which may not be ideal when pushed to the max: |
You can actually take control of this situation using
SCREEN MAX:charwidth
...which doesn't maximize anything, but does set the character width in
pixels whenever the GHS window gets maximized in the future.
The special form SCREEN MAX:0 forces SCREEN MAX to fill the entire screen as seen above, which may be wanted for small screens like touch tablets. Once GHS is maximized, can you guess how to make your SCREEN NORMAL again? |
