Can progressive flooding be modeled?
Question: Can Progressive flooding be modeled with GHS? For example, if damage to one compartment at higher displacement or heel may or may not submerge an opening on the deck in another compartment. Answer:      You can do this type of progressive flooding through the DAMAGED tank type. When a tank is in the DAMAGED mode, its Reference Point is used as the "point of damage". It actually goes between being intact and flooded, depending on whether its Reference Point is above or below the outside waterplane.      See also the bulletin on Tank Types.
