Question:
For a drilling unit or some other vessel with relatively short length,
how can the orientation of the weakest axis (direction of least stability)
be found?
Answer:
Use the AXIS command to define the orientation of the axis about which
heeling takes place. For example, with AXIS set to 45 degrees, heel is
defined as equal increments of what would normally be heel and trim.
With the axis set to 90 degrees, positive heel is defined as what would
normally be positive trim and positive trim is what would normally be
negative heel.
