DB Sensors
(Requires GHS version 17.00 or later)

(Use the command DB Update to get the latest version of the Data Base software.)

The Sensor Interface, which typically interfaces tank gauging or level sensors to GHS/GLM in a shipboard environment, was featured in a previous COW.

This dialog, where sensor names, types, and locations are specified, is conveniently accessed in a GHS session by means of the DB Sensors command.

Notice "File-based Setup" in the title of the dialog box. This allows for testing the sensor setup with input being taken from a text file. Later, when put into service, the protocol name for the actual sensor system would be substituted.

Tank-level sensing can be any combination of sounding, ullage, volume, or pressure, depending on the capabilities of the sensing hardware. Density may be included also. Additionally, drafts, angles, weights and various other numbers can be received through the sensor system.

DB SensGet tests your configuration by taking the sensor values from the text file.

The files generated by DB Sensors are kept in the GLM subfolder of the Ship Folder in the Data Base.

The DB Motto
You never lose track of your files when you keep them in the Data Base.
