General HydroStatics
Ship Stability Software
Command of the Week
(New or interesting aspects of GHS that you may not know about)

DB PutMac and DB Exe
(Requires GHS version 17.00 or later)

(Use the command DB Update to get the latest version of the Data Base software.)

DB PutMac macname stores a macro in the Data Base.

DB Exe macname executes a macro that has been stored in the Data Base.

Macros stored in this manner are not attached to any particular ship; they are all available for use regardless of the subject vessel.

Here is an example:
macro QuickLook
 solve
 status
 stability %1
/
DB PutMac "QuickLook"
Now macro QuickLook is permanently stored in the Data Base and can be executed at any time.

For example, DB Exe QuickLook "EN1" executes QuickLook with "EN1" as the stability criterion.

Without a macro name, DB Exe brings up a catalog of the stored macros:

Here you can record information about the macros stored in the Data Base. Clicking on the macro name brings up more detail about that particular macro.
