Command of the Week
(New or interesting aspects of GHS that you may not know about)

Easy Conditions
(Requires GHS version 17.00 or later with Load Editor)

Last week's COW demonstrated how the data-base commands PutTankCase and GetTankCase comprise a convenient means of storing and retrieving tank loading cases. But there's more to a loading case than what is in the tanks.

DB PutCond stores the entire loading condition. DB GetCond retrieves one that has been stored.

It was not made clear last week that the Load Editor addresses "fixed" or non-liquid load items as well as tanks. Using the same ship and repeating the same loads that were in last week's COW, we find there are a few such items.

We edit one of the fixed weights, and after the Load Edit session, DB PutCond "Departure A" stores these fixed weights (also light ship) as well as tank loads.

Before the changes were made, DB PutCond "Arrival A" was done, so now we have two conditions to compare:

DB GetCond "Arrival A"
STATUS FIXED, TANK:BRIEF
DB GetCond "Departure A"
STATUS FIXED, TANK:BRIEF

DB CondList lists all of the conditions that have been stored and gives you an opportunity to attach descriptions. Actually, CondList brings up a dialog which can be used for adding and deleting conditions as well.

If you were to look in the data base folder you would find a subfolder named CONDS within the ship's subfolder. Each stored condition is in the form of a file (a Run file, actually) which stores everything including all the tank details.
