HELP HELP

The HELP command opens the door to GHS's world of online documentation. Typing HELP followed by the name of any GHS command pops up the help viewer showing syntax, parameter options, operation tips, and examples. Since HELP is itself a GHS command, typing HELP HELP naturally provides info about how to get help and use the help viewer.

Right-clicking anywhere in the help window pops up more help, showing multiple columns of handy keyboard shortcuts and quick links to every topic (just the top of the first column is shown here):

A great way to learn how something works in GHS is to search help by keying "G" (or right-clicking "Find global"), entering any word or phrase to see its first appearance, then keying "A" again and again for all the other places it's used. It can also be illuminating to explore help by repeatedly keying Ctrl-PgDn or Ctrl-PgUp through lots of topics.

Even more kinds of help can be accessed by clicking the GHS Help menu, which starts with an index of quick topic links and concludes with powerful resources like PDFs of the full GHS User's Manual, SeaKeeping Manual, and Training Book:

To recap, typing HELP lists all available commands. Typing HELP HELP shows how to get help. Typing HELP HELP HELP is just being silly.
