TYPE SET /SWING

The parts of your geometry that you designate as CLASS SAIL
can be rotated during the calculation phase of your project.
This capability was developed to support cranes so that
graphics and wind heeling moments respond to the crane orientation.
The same technique can be used to rotate any fixed superstructure, which is something to consider when constructing the lateral-plane geometry if it would be easier to build it from cross sections. Here is an example: |
The command TYPE (CANE) SET /SWING:-90 was used to rotate the CANE part of the cargo. Notice the increased heeling moment after the rotation. |
